when school has not started, only thing to while time away is to go travelling (and it is creating a big hole in my pocket!!)

(anyway, i have resorted to using picasa to do collages because there are too many pcitures taken and using illustrator/photoshop will kill me and i won't be able to blog so fast too!)

We started day three rather late, after all that tesco-shopping, we had frosties for breakfast, and off we went to Gyeungbokgung to do some touristy stuff.

here we are, doing all the idiot actions like posing in the train, acting as though we are deep in thoughts, or something else. Upon reaching, we came across this Pulloman that is rumored to keep you eternally young upon walking through it.

Shortly after, we reached the palace, and us being tourists, began taking pictures with those in costumes and acting like idiots! haha!

By the time we were in, the palace didn't seem fantastic anymore (afternote: we went to the wrong palace.. the one which wasn't listed in the UNESCO world site). of course we tried to make the best of it and make it seem fun like this...

or like this....

Shortly after, we took a brief tour to the museum within the grounds of the palace and went off to meet the other SMU peeps who are in Seoul as well but in Yonsei Uni for dinner. People, meet SQ and Joshua...

Koreans have this culture of having 3 rounds of events if they are out with friends. so first stop was dinner at Nolboo, then off to ktv which is called No Re Bang (pronounced as bung) and then to drink at this HOF place. HOF places are like restaurants that serves only snacks and beer, so we went there.

Remember i told you about me F-I-N-A-L-L-Y located krispy kreme's location in seoul? yah.. it was near yonsei.. (lucky yonsei people who can get to eat krispy kreme like EVERYDAY). ate like 2 on the spot with gillian and On Wah (who SQ calls elma.

The next day, it was documentation time, and i didn't even bother to bring my new baby out.. so it was a boring day at the immigration office (which i even slept).

Today, we went on the city tour organised by the school... it wasn't too bad, but i simply hate the fact that they rushed the entire museum stay (which i by the way, like to sit in front of a exhibit and stare for a while).

Off to lunch at Insa-dong and then a short walk around there 'cos the show that we were watching has yet to start.

The highlight of the day got to be the show JUMP. it's like Nantah, but the martial arts version. These guys remind me of the Banquine act in Quidam with all the flipping and somersaults. Photography wasn't allowed inside, so only chance was during the autograph session.

Gillian and On Wah are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo into that guy in the picture that they had to take a photo with them, and even when we were doing or laundry just now, they were talking about him.. hahaha!

And then it's back to school and the normal life begins. Dinner, (my cheapest so far at 1,500KRW and relatively filling), laundry, blogging, and sleep.

Skiing's on the cards and it shall be on thursday, their national day.

till then, i hope more pictures will be taken...

for all the pictures taken, you can look at

Till then, take care people!

duper long update about what has happened so far.

The flight was on Thai Airways (TG 410), from sg -> bkk -> icn. sounds simple enough? no.. it's not.. there's a 3 hour transit at bkk airport. to make our life easier, we went to almost every luxury brand shop like gucci, coach... really no money to buy, so we ended up drinking really bad coffee and hot chocolate.

It was bad weather on that very morning when we arrived in seoul. so bad we couldn't land and we had to fly over to japan to refill and fly back. think i got to enjoy japan? no way. i was simply sitting and sleeping in the plane. bleagh. by the time we reached and settled down in our dorm, it was almost 6pm, mainly thanks to having to drag our luggages up this long slope to the dorm which took us almost 30 mins! ate the most delicious thing that very night called kae-lan-bang that simply translates to egg bread. it was an egg inside a bread and boiled to perfection. maybe cos we were super duper hungry then, that little piece of bread made us so happy!

Following which, the next day was orientation and placement test. met On Wah from NUS and we made her do the smu jump. lots of room for improvement.

walked around school and explore the place a bit more. took pictures here and there. (and KU is blardy BIG lah... imagine NUS size... but on a hilly concept). went over to Tesco to get some toiletries that night and we bought so much! and took a cab back.. cos u wouldn;t (like us) want to carry all that load up the hills!

continuing the story, their food court is quite amazing. haha! big servings at low prices. and i bought a little fire engine as my pillow (cost like 9,900 KRW = 16SGD), while our dear gillian bought a pillow case that cost as much. hahaha!! (she's sure to scold me when she reads about this)

Next morning was buying-handphone day. us being too early, we went to isaac's to get some really nice toast! yummy! and when we got back to school.. it was graduation season, but this time it's on a much larger scale (cos it's the weekend?).

it was so crowded that it was fun actually. ate some roadside stalls there, shot a few pictures here and there, and i have to say the way the korean people dresses are quite *ahem*. wearing a silverish suit in the day is a definite big no-no for me.. but they seem to be able to carry it off.

Met up with SQ (whi is doing exchange in Yonsei, KU's arch rival) and while we were in a shop waiting to register On Wah's phone, we discovered this amazing thing that they have.. they actually have a phone cleaning machine for us. use the vacumm and scented wet wipes. of course, us suakus kept taking photos and posing there like idiots while the locals looked at us and i bet they must be luffing like mad inside.

another 12 lian-pai. this time with SQ and Gillian.

After parting ways with the others, we went over to Dongdaemun to walk around. Para-Para Dance carpark attendants were dancing at booths to signal to cars, road marshalls doing hip-hop style movements to signal to drivers to slow down... they have it all!

On this stage there was some performances and following there was like some sexy female dancer competition. some were good, some can shake but no looks, others were hot but after a while you realise they cannot really dance. I remember i was only impressed by one of the girl's (not very pretty but she seem to have choreographed her steps). But this is my favourite girl of the nite! she's soooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot! leggy babe!

think she's russian.. not very sure. but she sure was hot. supermodel kinda hot. hahaha! then we hopped over to some restaurant to eat pork belly bbq. we were really lucky i think.. cos it's a famous shop that has been shot by all the major tv stations in korea. (think the equivalent of citybeat, makansutra and the likes).

That's what have been happening up till so far. Yet to transfer the pictures from the day before and yesterday. Will update again in time... but....... my newfound joy yesterday was...

i actually found Krispy Kreme in Seoul!! bought a dozen to share for breakfast later... i am such a happy man!

More updates soon!

a double celebration for me and the baybehs: my farewell and of course ng mui mui's ROM-ed. *surprise surprise* baba tan spotted a new spunky hairstyle (that made her looked like pat mok), bibi lee looks the same, albeit a bit too stressed up from work.

dinner at raku ninja (average jap food), followed by a bottle fo yellowtail wine at earshot@esplanade. nice! hahah!

brought along my new baby - Nikon D70s and shot those taiwanese 12 lian-pai and i must say the effect's really good. of course, without such good sport, the photos wouldn't turn out nice at all.

presenting to you my baybehs!(dun you just love how they shake it for the kameera?) (L)

(L)(L)(L)!!
